Energy and Infrastructure Department
The IRHA Energy and Infrastructure Department consists of the Energy Manager (Tiffany Simmons) and the Energy and Infrastructure Business Liaison (Joy Shockley). Our mission is to reduce energy costs and promote locally-driven infrastructure success in our region.
We will approach community energy and infrastructure needs with a three-fold approach focusing on communication, construction, and planning. Communication is key to successful community projects. Successful communication leads to community ownership and project follow-up. High-quality construction design and maintenance leads to reduced costs and a longer project life span. Lastly, we will address the lack of comprehensive community plans. This will be done through training and workshops where necessary and by bringing community entities together to find innovative solutions. Successful community plans lead to self-determined futures and ownership of project results. Our long-term goals are to substantially reduce energy costs in villages and help make community projects more successful and community driven.
