Pat McCarty, Chairman

Bio: Patrick M. McCarty, Chairman Seat D. elected: 3/2005 Bio: Patrick (Pat) resides in Ruby with his wife, Esther where they have raised four children and a few grandchildren. Pat works for Wrights Air Service as the agent and is also self-employed at his convenience store. For many years he's appreciated being the crew boss during the fire season as he enjoys the outdoors. During the winter he enjoys being out in the woods cutting wood or logs on a snow machine or out on the river in the summer time. Other offices held: Chief/Second Chief of Ruby Tribal Council; City Council Member of Ruby; CSC Member of Ruby, presently the Chairman; TCC Executive Board; TCC Sub-regional Board; Yukon-Koyukuk School Board; Dineega Corporation Board Member.
Pat enjoys serving on the Board of Commissioners working toward many more modern, efficient homes for the interior villages.

Bio: Teisha Simmons is originally from Galena and resides in Fairbanks. She is a faculty member at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, sits on the Statewide Independent Living Council, and is the proud parent of a two year old. Teisha enjoys traveling, reading, learning the Koyukon Athabascan language, and spending time with her family.

Paul William Sr., Commissioner

Bio: Paul Williams Sr. is currently the Traditional Chief of Beaver Village. Paul’s wife is from Arctic Village where they have resided 20 years in the past. Paul is currently employed by Fish & Wildlife as an Information Technician for the Yukon Flats Refuge where he has served 11 years in that capacity. Paul has been a trapper and lived a subsistence lifestyle, raising five children with his wife.
Paul is a high school graduate, served in active duty for 3 years, served in the National Guard for 5 years and is a past Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic.

Henry Deacon, Commissioner

Bio: Board member Henry Deacon was born October 4, 1929 in the Holikachuck area to Hallie and Yankee Deacon. An orphan by the time he was six years of age, Mr. Deacon was raised by his aunt and uncle. He attended school up to the fourth grade at Holicakuck and in Seward. At age 16, he began taking on seasonal work to supplement his subsistence lifestyle: first as a deckhand on a steamwheeler named "Alice" that plied the Yukon River then on the Alaska railroad. Later he sold wood to the steam wheelers and villagers as well as hauling ice for the local school. Mr. Deacon has worked in the canneries and trapped for a living. In 1950 he began working as the store manager of the Alaska Native Industries Cooperative Association (ANICA) store until 1963 when he began working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) school. The State took over running the school in 1987. Mr. Deacon continued on as maintenence man until retiring in 1996 at age 76.
Mr. Deacon has served on many boards: On the Traditional Council, Tanana Chiefs Council (TCC) Village Corporation, Hee Yea Lingde, ANICA, which runs the village store, Iditarod Area School Board, Yukon Delta Health Corporation, Interior Regional Housing Association, federal Subsistence and maybe even a few which he forgot.
Mr. Deacon married Dolly Gochenueaur in 1947. Together they have had 13 children, three deceased, 22 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He is best at Native thinking. He has fished all his life both as a subsistence user and as a commercial fisherman. He has studied flying and owned his own airplane.
